FAQs

Do I need to make an appointment?

Yes, we are by appointment as we only see one bride or #bridetribe at a time meaning that you get the fitting suite to yourself and all the dresses are at your disposal for the duration of your consultation. As a result of this, we cannot accommodate “Walk-In” appointments.

How long do appointments last?

Our standard bridal & bridesmaid consultations are 90 minutes & our #bridetribe experience is 2 hours long. Fittings with the seamstress are 30 minutes.

How many people can I bring to my appointment?

We can comfortably accommodate a couple of people as well as the bride in our fitting suites. We find that whilst it is nice to have other people’s opinions, the most important opinion is yours and it can be lost if too many people are present.

When is the best time to start looking for my dress?

In our opinion, the best time to start looking for your dress is when you would be happy to place an order if you found the perfect gown. Dresses are often discontinued by the designers and occasionally we also sell our samples from the rail. This means that something you fall in love with today may not still be available to try a few months down the line.

How long do I need to order my dress?

Dresses can take 4 months from ordering to delivery and we like to have your dress in the boutique at least 8 weeks before your wedding date to allow for try-ons and fittings with the seamstress. Therefore we would recommend no less than 6 months, however many of our designers do hold stock in particular styles/sizes so we can always help when we have less than 6 months, it just means that the choice of gowns available to you might be slightly reduced.

When do I see the seamstress?

For standard bridal alterations the seamstress would like to see you size weeks before your wedding date. The seamstress is available on Tuesday & Wednesday evenings between 3pm – 7pm.

Are alterations included in the price of my dress?

No. As every bride has different requirements we don’t add a nominal fee to the cost of each gown to cover alterations. When you meet with the seamstress she will quote you for the work needed to make your gown fit perfectly? Payment is made to the seamstress directly once all work is complete.

How much do alterations cost?

Each bride requires different alterations to her dress to achieve the perfect fit. The average bridal alteration is around £150 whilst the average bridesmaid dress alteration is around £50.

Why will my dress need altering?

Dresses are made to a standard size & length. When ordering your dress we will choose the size, based on your measurements, which will require the least amount of alterations to achieve the perfect fit. Most brides will need the length of their dress altering according to the height of their shoes.

How much are your wedding dresses?

Our dresses range in price from £750 to £2200.

How much are your bridesmaid dresses?

Our bridesmaid range of over 200 styles range in price from £180 to £320.

What do I need to bring with me to my appointment?

We have shoes in the fitting room for you to try with the dresses however if you have a pair of shoes you are comfortable in the please bring these along. Nude underwear is recommended and a well-fitting strapless bra if you have one.

What deposit is required to place an order?

50% of the cost of your gown is required to place an order.

When is the balance of my order due?

The remaining 50% of the cost of your gown is due once your dress has arrived at the boutique. This is usually around 3 months before the wedding unless you have requested for it to arrive sooner. No alterations will be made to your dress until payment has been made in full.
